Cardiff Devils

The Cardiff Devils are Cardiff's ice hockey team, who compete in the Elite Ice Hockey League. The club was founded in 1986 and initially played in Division Two (Midlands) of the British League. Progressing through the league structure, they became champions of the Heineken British League and were founder members of the short-lived all-professional Superleague. With their home at the Wales National Ice Rink earmaked for demolition, they moved to a temporary rink in Cardiff Bay in autumn 2006. Famous former players include John Lawless, Shannon Hope, Steve Moria, Cardiff-born Stevie Lyle, Doug McEwen, Ivan Matulik and Vezio Sacratini.
