NoFit State Circus

Cardiff has a thriving community of new circus performers, street entertainers, etc.

We can even boast a homegrown circus. NoFit State Circus[1] began in the 1980s, emerging as street performers from juggling workshops run at Rubicon Dance Centre and at the University (as part of a club called Balls Up). By 1991 they had bought a little big top, and spent several years touring a family-orientated show of comedy circus/theatre throughout the UK.

They also began producing large events in warehouses, incorporating local creative talent around the core of professionals.

More recently they commissioned a unique silver UFO tent, in which they tour a multimedia show aimed at young adults - and this show travels outside the UK, to Spain, Germany, Ireland, Denmark, etc.

They have also helped set up and train local community groups like Splott State Community Circus - and they offer classes and workshops in their new space behind the Ebenezer Church in Charles Street.
