Coal Exchange
From Cardiffpedia
The Coal Exchange was a market floor for trading in coal, and is now a venue for staged events, in Cardiff Bay as well as containing a number of offices.
It was constructed between 1883 and 1886 as a base to trade coal from the coal mines of the welsh valleys - most of which came to Cardiff by train for distribution. The building played an important role in the industrial Cardiff of the 19th century even to the extent that the first recorded million pound business deal ever was reportedly struck within it's walls.
