Roath
From Cardiffpedia
In estate agent speak roath is 'leafy and desirable'. In reality it is made up of residential streets ranging from the highly expensive (red-brick mansions surrounding Roath Park), to the fairly ropey (characterful studenty streets around Claude Rd), and plenty inbetween. Shopping areas include the shabby take-away dominated City Road, Albany Road (which is home to many charity shops, a tesco Extra, coffee shops, and a good fruit and veg shop), and the slightly posh Wellfield Road (with its smattering of expensive clothes 'boutiques' and hair 'design studios'). Cultural highlights include 'The Albany' pub, which is welcoming and serves a good pint (watch out for the barman's enormous moustache), and "The Wellfield Diner" in the small alleyway off Wellfield Road where you can get very good fry-ups the morning after.
