Toucan

From Cardiffpedia

The Toucan Club is a Cardiff institution that's had various homes over the years. Although it's currently at the intersection between City Road and Upper Clifton Street (where 'Journeys' used to be), the terminally nostaligic of varying Cardiff vintages will all tell you that it was much better when it was by the bridge under that hotel/on Womanby St down from the 'Clwb'/on St Mary St next to 'Flares'. It's still a good place with a varied live music bill (they say: "The Toucan Club, Cardiff's unique, independent live music club is still dedicated to staging quality original bands and DJs but has evolved to encompass not just the best in funk, world music and new bands, but also cutting edge Hip Hop, new beats, acoustic acts and new live dance acts") and a mainly chilled 20/30-something clientelle. Serves tapas prepared by a Spanish tapas chef. Their website contains a page with MP3s from regular acts.
